TOURNAMENT:
Tournament will be a Double Elimination Bracket.
A double elimination tournament is a type of elimination tournament/competition in which a participant ceases to be eligible to win the tournament's championship upon having lost two games or matches.
There will be 2 brackets, a Winner’s bracket and a Loser’s bracket.
After the first round, the first round winners will proceed to the Winner's bracket and the losers will proceed to the Loser's bracket.
Each team is guaranteed 2 games.
CORNHOLE GAME PLAY:
Two teams of two people, partners, shall play.
Partners shall stand at opposite cornhole boxes on the same side, from the perspective of a third person, and face each other, so there is no advantage given to one team.
A cornhole player may throw from anywhere behind the front of the cornhole box they are throwing from.
Game continues by alternating throws between the two opponent players until all 8 cornhole bags have been thrown.
If a cornhole bag hits the ground then bounces up on the board, that “bounce-up” will not be scored and the bag will be removed from the board.
The next inning starts when the cornhole player on the team that scored last, throws their first cornhole bag.
The cornhole game will continue until one team reaches or exceeds 21 points or the 20 minute time limit has been reached.
FOULS: A foul occurs when any of the following happens:
A cornhole player’s foot goes past the foot foul line, termed a foot foul.
Should a foul occur, the bag thrown will not be counted at all.
SCORING:
The score shall be taken after all cornhole bags have been thrown for an inning. Points shall be given as follows: 3 points for a cornhole bag that goes through the hole. 1 point for a cornhole bag that is on the playing surface. 1 point for a cornhole bag that is hanging into the hole. 1 point for a cornhole bag that is hanging off the edge, but not touching the ground. 0 points for a cornhole bag that is on the playing surface, but also touching the ground. 0 points for a cornhole bag that is hanging off the front edge and is resting on a cornhole bag that is on the ground (unless the cornhole bag on the ground can be removed without making the hanging bag fall to the ground, then 1 point is given).
CHEATING: Is not allowed. Do not do it.
Cheating examples are: brushing off a hanging bag or similar standing next to the board to help partners bag keep from sliding off the side, etc. 3. Should a team cheat, they will be disqualified from the tournament.
